Understanding your bills

You should expect to receive more than one bill for emergency medical care at Swedish First Hill or Swedish Cherry Hill.

The total cost of your care consists of services provided by the hospital (Swedish Medical Center), the Emergency Medicine provider (Seattle Emergency Physicians Services - SEPS), and possibly other Professional Services, if required during your course of treatment.

Swedish Bills

This bill is for hospital services you receive while in the Emergency Room and includes charges for nursing care, medications administered, imaging (such as ultrasound, CT scan, MRI), as well as other services.

SEPS Bills

This bill is for services rendered by the Emergency Medicine clinician(s), who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries. Emergency Medicine clinicians are responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and disposition of all patients receiving care in the Emergency Department.

As a patient, you are able to review your medical records after receiving care at Swedish Medical Center. The easiest way to view records is electronically via MyChart, though records can also be requested through Swedish.
